The Parenting Summit

How to prepare your Teenager for Success in Life

Young people need to be prepared in order to survive and thrive. It is our job, as parents, to ensure that they get off to a good start and that our influence is a positive one. We all want the best for our children, and the harsh fact is that one in three of them will suffer from mental health difficulties between the ages of fourteen and eighteen. The reasons are many and largely preventable.

Denise Brett, a Study & Exam Coach and Psychoanalyst, and I have developed some very exciting programs to equip students with the life skills necessary for today’s rapidly changing world. We want to help parents to lead by example and support their teenager in the transition from School to College and beyond.

With this in mind, we are organising a summit for parents of teenagers. We are bringing together eight experts who each work with students in different capacities. During the summit, they will share their insights and generate an environment where parents realise how they are in a unique position to shape their child’s future; enabling them to maximise their potential.

The Parenting Summit is the first step in what we hope will be the beginning of change away from paralysing anxiety and lack of motivation; towards more confident, motivated and balanced students.

We as parents can help; as believe it or not, we are the most important influencers in our teenager's lives. We can equip our teenagers with the skills to cope with the pressures and ever-changing landscape of their career and life choices. Dramatic and unprecedented change in the workplace has led to considerable opportunities, but also considerable challenges for everyone.

On the day, you will learn practical ways of supporting your teenager to:

  • develop a sense of self essential to making good decisions

  • plan strategically and cope with change

  • understand the importance of perspective

  • build resilience and mental toughness

  • reduce stress and anxiety

  • improve communication and motivation

  • plan their career with positivity and confidence

  • develop Study and Exam Skills

  • build life skills

  • tap into their intuition
