to make the best CAO course choices

We know that

  • School doesn’t sufficiently prepare most students for figuring out what they want to do after finishing school

  • Students, currently in the education system, face a far more challenging future than their predecessors

  • Transition from secondary school into higher education is challenging for many

  • Poor course choices can be costly at many levels

What parents will learn

  • How to get the most out of the CAO process, including building in a plan B and deciding on the order of preference

  • Common mistakes and assumptions that parents and teenagers make around courses and colleges

  • How in taking ownership of their CAO decisions, students can prepare for the challenges and opportunities associated with the changing world of work

  • How the challenges experienced by students in the transition from secondary school to college can be minimised

  • Why school leavers have difficulty figuring out what’s next after finishing school and devising a list of CAO courses that suit them best – what to do about it.

The good news is that information and preparation can make all the difference. While making course and career decisions is complex, it isn’t rocket science.

"Anne gave an excellent career development workshop for parents, and I was one of the attendees. The workshops were perfectly geared towards giving parents the tools to support their children and help them make the best career choices, based on their interests - in a helpful, practical way'"

My daughter Rachel attended Anne in preparation for CAO 2021. Anne gave her great insight into the whole process. Anne set tasks for Rachel to tease out of what areas was of interest to her. By Christmas, Rachel had decided the layout of her CAO application and it took a lot of pressure off the important study months. I would highly recommend Anne and her approach.
